For the second week in a row Hermes have been ousted from a cup competition on penalties. After 180 minutes without a goal, Hermes have exited both the McLeman Cup and the GA Engineering Cup in dramatic penalty shoot outs.

This week's loss was particularly disappointing as the ref handed the Uniconn Park side the perfect opportunity to claim a place in the final when he awarded the home side a penalty with only 10 minutes left of the tie.

Unfortunately Craig Macklin's effort was saved by Luncarty keeper Mark Mitchell and shortly after the Perth side squeezed though 7-6 on penalties.
