After the success of our first two events in 2010 and 2011, we've decided to bring Non-League Day back this year too. After much discussion, it has been decided to hold the 2012 event on Saturday 13th October. We chose this slightly later date than usual to avoid a clash with the Paralympics and a round of FA Cup fixtures.
Non-League Day is a celebration of the semi-professional and amateur game and a chance for fans of bigger clubs to experience football at a level they may otherwise unfamiliar with. Moreover, it helps promote hundreds of clubs across the country who are almost exclusively volunteer run and do so much good for the local community.
This year we want as many clubs as possible to get involved in order to make the event a truly national celebration. Whether it be ticket offers, kids coaching, 5-a-side tournaments, fun days or staggered kick offs, there are numerous ways clubs can reach out to the local community in an attempt to boost gates on the day.
Our new website has been launched and is full of useful information, including web banners, FAQs and ideas to attract new fans.
As a footnote, Non-League Day is run by volunteers on a non-profit basis to raise awareness of the non-league game.
