Herne Bay FC are pleased to announce the signing today of Mark Lovell from Ryman Premier title chasing Maidstone United. Mark is 31 and had a brief career with Gillingham FC making his debut against Watford in 2001. He is, of course, the son of former Welsh international Steve Lovell.

"I'm delighted to have signed Mark", says Bay manager Sam Denly, "he is a quality player and a proven goalscorer at this level and above."

Mark Lovel goes straight into the Herne Bay squad for Saturday's match at Winch's Field against, another of his former clubs, Hastings United.
