Ryman Isthmian League Division One (South) proposed

The Football Association have announced the allocations to Leagues in Steps 1 to 4 for 2016/17 following today's meeting of the League's Committee.

The composition of the Ryman Isthmian League's Divisions will be subject to ratification at the Annual General Meeting of the Isthmian League on 18th June although it is not anticipated that there will be any changes.

The announcement, and eventual ratification, does now formally end the slim hope of reprieve harboured by relegated Whitstable Town who will now compete in the SCEFL next season.

The proposed composition of the Ryman One (South) gives Herne Bay several new trips next term as there have been a few sideways transfers of clubs between divisions and leagues as a result of Farnborough Town's relegation from the Ryman Premier on administrative grounds as they will be pleased in the Southern League One (Central) rather than Ryman One (South).

New and renewed venues for Herne Bay will be:

Cray Wanderers (sideways transfer for Ryman One (North)
Godalming Town (from Southern League One Central)
Greenwich Borough (from SCEFL)
Horsham (from Southern Combination League formerly the Sussex County League)
Lewes (relegated from Ryman Isthmian Premier)

Walton & Hersham, Whitstable Town and Peacehaven & Telscombe have all been relegated from Ryman One (South) to Step 5 football.
