Peter Guise previews the week ahead for Herne Bay Football Club.

Matches scheduled for week commencing Saturday 18th April 2015.

First XI

Well here it is then! The final home game of the season for the first team. Almost unbelievable isn’t it? Where did the season go? Well, it went well. Guernsey are the visitors and it’s a lunchtime kick off to cater for the logistics of getting back to the island. Anything other than defeat will ensure Bay finish no lower than 9th. Yes, 9th. The very, very lowest Bay can finish is 10th. It will be the highest league finish position in the 3 years that Herne Bay have been in the Ryman League. Come along and show your appreciation for this season’s achievements.

KO at Winch’s Field: Herne Bay v Guernsey, Saturday 18th April, is 12:45 PM

U21s

It’s the Championship play offs semi-finals this week for the U21s with Greenwich Borough u21 the opponents over two legs. Borough were beaten by the Bay in Kent Intermediate Cup action earlier in the season after a penalty shoot out. The first leg is away on 3G on Saturday with the 2nd leg at Winch’s Field on Tuesday evening so come down and get behind Herne Bay’s future.

KO at Princes Park 3g: Greenwich Borough v Herne Bay u21s, 1st Leg, Saturday 18th April, is 12:00 pm

KO at Winch’s Field: Herne Bay u21s v Greenwich Borough, 2nd Leg, Tuesday 21st April, is 7:30 PM

U18s

With the chance of retaining their Premier Division title now gone, the u18s are focussing on runners up spot with a trip to Cray Valley in the Kent Youth League.

KO at Badgers: Cray Valley v Herne Bay U18s, Sunday 19th April, is 11:00 am

Ladies

Big, big day for the Ladies and the last chance of silverware this season. It’s League Cup Final day and it’s being held at Winch’s Field although Bay are designated the ‘away’ team so will be playing in their ADFA sponsored burgundy change strip. The Ladies are the holders of the League Cup, having won it last term against Bexhill United, but will be up against their closest rivals to date, Dartford Royals. A big crowd is expected at Winch’s Field for this big game so get there early.
