Volume 1 Issue 10

Peter Guise previews the week ahead for Herne Bay Football Club.

Matches scheduled for week commencing Saturday 13th December 2014.

The weather may play a significant part in this weekend’s matches. Watch out for announcements of games on or off.

First XI

The First Team are back on the road after three fixtures at home. It’s the journey to Walton Casuals in the Ryman Isthmian League Division One South this Saturday. In last season’s fixture Bay ran out 6-0 winners against the Stags with Stuart King bagging a hat-trick.

KO at The Waterside Stadium: Walton Casuals v Herne Bay is 3 pm

U21s

The top of the NRG Gyms table u21s return to Winch’s Field to play a University of Kent side that they narrowly beat on campus earlier in the season. Score-line that day was 3-2 to the Bay. The Uni won the league last season pipping Bay by a single point.

KO at Winch’s Field: Herne Bay U21s v University of Kent is 3:00 pm

U18s

The u18s will be playing only their fifth Kent Youth League match on Sunday when they welcome Phoenix Sports to Winch’s Field on Sunday morning. Cup exploits have meant, for the second year running, the league programme has taken a back seat.

KO at Winch’s Field: Herne Bay u18s v Phoenix Sports is 11:00 am

Ladies

With the excitement of last Sunday’s FA Women’s Cup tie only just abating it’s time for the Ladies to ramp it up again in defence of the SECWFL League Cup they won last season. Fellow Premier Division side Parkwood Rangers provide the next obstacle to retaining the cup. Let’s trust that a good percentage of those that formed the near 200 crowd for last Sunday come back to see the Ladies this Sunday. The teams have met before when, in their first season, Herne Bay Ladies beat Parkwood in the Final of the Kent Women's Plate at Sevenoaks.

KO at Winch’s Field: Herne Bay Ladies v Parkwood Rangers Ladies is 2:30 pm

At this time of year the weather plays a significant part in the scheduling of matches and any last minute changes will be posted via Social Media (see below) – there will not always be a separate article on the website.
