Peter Guise previews the week ahead for Herne Bay Football Club.
Matches scheduled for week commencing Saturday 10th January 2015.

The weather may play a significant part in this week’s matches. Watch out for announcements of games on or off.

First XI

It would have been a blank weekend for the First Team but the opportunity has arisen to bring forward the away trip to South Park from the end of the month to this Saturday. Bay go in to this match on the back of a run of five defeats, bottom of the form table, whilst The Sparks have lost just once in the last six outings.

KO at Whitehall Lane: South Park v Herne Bay, 10th January 2015, is 3 pm

U21s

The table topping U21s are back in action this Saturday with the visit of Dover Rangers to Winch’s Field in the NRG Gyms U21 League (East Division). Rangers have won 4 of their 8 games played to date. (This game should have been played last Saturday but fell foul to the weather).

U18s

Phoenix Sports are the visitors to Winch’s Field on Sunday morning as the U18s get their league campaign back underway.

KO at Winch’s Field: Herne Bay u18s v Phoenix Sports u18s, 11th January 2015, is 11 am

On Tuesday night the u18s are at home to Burgess Hill Town in the 3rd Round of the Lucas Fettes Cup, effectively the Ryman Youth Cup. Last season Bay’s u18s reached the quarter final stage.

Ladies

The Ladies return to SECWFL Premier Division action this Sunday afternoon with Anchorians visiting The Field of Dreams. They have been here before this season having been the first opponents in the splendid FA Women’s Cup run for Herne Bay Ladies who are currently third in the Premier Division 7 points behind leaders Meridian but with 5 games in hand.

Veterans Team

Under the management of Neil Brown, who will also be playing, the Vets are away to Burgess Hill Town Vets on Wednesday evening in the Ryman Veterans Cup. Also lkely to be in the Bay side are ‘keeper Anthony Deer and former Winch’s Field favourite Mark (Spider) Munday.

KO at Leylands Park: Burgess Hill Town Vets v Herne Bay Vets is 7:30 pm
