Volume II Issue XIV

Peter Guise previews the week ahead for Herne Bay Football Club.

Matches scheduled for week commencing Saturday 21st November 2015.

Saturday Snow Risk for Herne Bay: 16%

First XI

Back to league action it is then and the games will come thick and fast between now and the middle of January as Bay play catch up in the league. Watch them climb the table as points are accumulated! This Saturday see the visit of Walton Casuals for the second time this season; the first was in the FA Trophy. Now it’s the important business of the league.

KO at The Altira Park Stadium, Winch’s Field: Herne Bay v Walton Casuals, Ryman One South, Saturday 21st November 2015, is 3:00 PM

Game Two of the week sees the Bay board a plane for the Balliwick to take on The Green Lions in a rearranged league fixture and looking to bring back league points as well as the obligatory duty frees.

KO at Footes Lane: Guernsey v Herne Bay, Ryman One South, Wednesday 25th November 2015, is 7:45 PM

U21s

After picking up all the points last week a reborn U21 side travels to Sussex to take on Burgess Hill’s u21 side. Returning to the management team is Allan Birchard to assist Anthony Sands. Returning faces in the team as well with Dom Snee and Steven Murray who had impressive displays in the centre of defence against Faversham. Note the slightly earlier KO time as Burgess Hill have a floodlight curfew to consider.

KO at The Green Elephant Stadium: Burgess Hill Town U21s v Herne Bay U21s, Ryman U21 South, Thursday 26th November 2015, is 7:30 PM

U18s

The U18s return to the Field of Dreams this Sunday when Sheppey United are the visitors and there is a very good chance that this match could well see Gary Tullet’s charges pick up their first win of the season.

KO at The ALtira Park Stadium, Winch’s Field: Herne Bay u18s v Sheppey United U18s, Kent Youth League u18 South, Sunday 22nd November 2015, is 11:00 a.m.

Ladies

With an uneven number of teams in the league it’s Herne Bay Ladies team’s turn to have a Sunday off but they will be in action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Surrey for a cup match against fellow L&SERWFL side Carshalton Athletic who knocked Bay out of this particular competition last season. In the summer the Robins installed a 3G pitch at the ground so it’s no metal studs allowed!

The other matches in this round are:

Phoenix Sports v West Ham United
Harlow Town v Charlton Athletic
Gillingham v Tottenham Hotspur

The draw for the semi-finals has not yet been made.

KO at Colston Avenue: Carshalton Athletic v Herne Bay Ladies, Ryman Women’s Cup 2nd Round (Quarter Final Stage), Tuesday 24th November 2015 is 7:45 PM

We are now getting into the time of year when the weather can play a significant part in whether fixtures go ahead as planned. Check the various social media sites (see below) before you travel if in any doubt.
