This cup game started slowly with both teams struggling to make an impact.Heybridge defended well with Deakin and Murrell tackling and releasing the ball up to the midfield. It took until the 18th minute for Heybridge to make the breakthrough with Albone collecting the ball in his own half and carrying it on to finish well to make it 1-0. The second half saw Albone double the lead with a well taken shot. This settled Heybridge and they started to play some good passing football with Murrell linking up well with Farmer and Spreadbury linking up with Shuttlewood. Ryan Ball had an impressive second half showing good determination to be first to the ball and some good attacking play.Heybridge were unlucky not to add to their lead with Shuttlewood , Ball and Albone all hitting the woodwork .
A good passing move with Ball and Shuttlewood down the left saw the ball being crossed into Albone who finished from close range.
Two minutes later Spreadbury ghosted into the area and finished well with his right foot.
Deakin had another consistent game and was MOM.
