The first half got underway in dreadful conditions with the rain never letting up and making for a horrible pitch. Panthers started controlling the game with Toby Hume and Louis Barrell battling hard in midfield to create chances for Jack Price and Henry Freeland. Unfortunately against the run of play Sporting had a ball kicked long and a good piece of individual skill saw them take the lead 1 – 0 Sporting. Oliver Baker made some timely interceptions looking stronger as the game progressed. Some good interplay between the forwards saw Henry Freeland pull one back for Toby Hume to latch onto putting it just wide of the right hand post. Again another break unfolded with Jack Price playing a beautifully weighted ball into the path of Louis Barrell who fearlessly poked it past the oncoming Sporting keeper. 1 – 1 at the half time whistle.

Sporting 77 never seemed to really get going but yet again against the run of play scored another making it 2 – 1 Sporting with Kacper Banas a tad unlucky. Jack Whittaker alongside Joseph Kearns controlled the defence well and sprayed some nicely placed passes out to the midfield. The breakthrough came with Matt Morley making a good run and finally finishing a well taken chance 2 – 2. Jack Price and Louis Barrell also had chances maybe to nick the win but it just wasn’t to be.

The game ended a draw with no love lost between the two teams setting up a Cup Final which to be honest could go either way.
