U10's Blackwater Panthers - Report
Date: Sunday 13th May 2012 - Kick Off: 00:00
League
| Valley Green Hawks | vs | Heybridge Swifts Youth |
4 - 2 Valley Green
4-2 valley green away
An even first 20 mins saw the deadlock broken following a good passing move up the right with Toby scoring with a low drive just inside the near post. Just before half time Jack Whitaker released Kasper (a rare appearance upfront rather than in goal) who was upended for a penalty. Kasper took the penalty himself, and was unlucky to see a good strike hit the goal keepers right hand post. 1-0 to the Panthers at half time, with solid defensive work by Jo and Oliver catching the eye.
A couple of positional changes seemed to unsettle the team in the first 10 mins of the 2nd half with first an equaliser and then a penatly conceded by a battling Matthew Morley, converted to make it 2-1 to the home side.
However the home sides momentum was undermined with a four player substitution half way through the 2nd half, and Heybridge soon equalised via Toby's 2nd goal of the morning. Soon after Jack Whitaker made it 3-2 from the edge the area through the keeper following excellent set up play from Matthew Morley. Jack Price made it 4-2 near the end with an excellent finish on the run following his break up the left.
