Heybridge maintain second place in the league with an impressive performance away at Boreham.Boreham were in third place going
into the game which made it a very important fixture for both teams .Also it’s the first time the two teams have played each other so
it was going to be an interesting game .Heybridge started by playing up the slope at Boreham and moved the ball around well .It was
all Heybridge for the first 20 minutes .Then Boreham started to come back and attack but it was that player again Eddy Newton who fired up a
high arching lobbing ball ,most spectators and players thought ohh yeeer that’s going out or miles over the bar but no it just dipped at
the last minute into the back of the net . It was working well with Danno Williams in goal, Ryan Mangan and Mikolaj the full backs
Luke Wheeler and Craig at the back .Freddy Bourne wide right and Josh Griggs wide left put the crosses in .The Midfield is always
Looking stronger this season with Sam Jones, Adam Bennett, and Nathan Kent controlling the game .Mikolaj at left back twisted his knee
And had to be replaced unlucky Mikolaj. This meant a switch to left back for Josh and Dylan Grant coming into the Left midfield
Position.
Score at half time Heybridge one nil up which was just what we needed as Heybridge knew we stood a chance down the slope.
George Anderson came off the bench and switched with Freddy at half time and was soon into the action spraying the ball around and working hard
George is such a good player when he is working hard.Then Dylan who had just come on aggaravated a knee injury and had to be replaced
Again UNLUCKY DYLAN .Freddy Bourne came back onto left midfield and ghosted into the box following up a long cross to the far post which he
calmly slotted in from only yards out .Well done Freddy its so easy to slash a shot at those balls and see them go over the bar, this was a super start to the second half
George Anderson was playing really well and fired in a long shot across the full goal to find the far corner of the net for Heybridge to take the points
And secure second spot.
Special mention to Danny Williams who saved us a couple of times today with stunning match winning saves if 1 or two of those had gone in
It may have been a different result; also Ryan Mangan had a stunning game with superbly timed tackles .Craig was also stunning with
Awesome pace sweeping up,and Josh Griggs who played in a position that he is not comfortable in but did a great job for the team WELL DONE JOSH
And we wish Conor a speedy recovery from a nasty viral infection that kept him out of the game today
Man of the match ,I thought there were so many great performances today it is difficult to choose I think the whole team were superb.
