HCC Youth Cricket builds on success and takes it to the next level. Heyford CC Youth Cricket has continued to develop and the summer of 2012 was a significant milestone towards future success for the Club. In the newly formatted single Northants competition league, the HCC U11 team achieved a number of impressive wins and narrowly missed top spot in the Northampton and District Youth Cricket League. Likewise, in the first year of competition the HCC U13 team grew in stature and performances from an uneasy first few games to achieving successes over a number of established sides from much bigger clubs, eventually ending the season in a highly commendable fourth place in the league.
Achievements for our young players did not end with their youth cricket endeavours, as 2012 saw four of the Club’s youngsters stepping up to full representative Saturday honours, Rhys Hopkins, Calum Renshaw, Oakley Young and Tom Pearson all made successful debuts and will be looking to secure regular places in the Saturday sides next season.
As we look forward to the forthcoming season and building on the successes and growth of our youth development programme, we are pleased to confirm that HCC Youth Cricket will again be entering two teams into the Northampton and District Youth Cricket League at U11 and U13.
The prospect of positive and exciting cricket will give more of our youngsters the opportunity to play competitive matches, continuing with the Sunday morning U11s 8-a-side pairs cricket format and introducing the Monday evening 11-a-side game for the U13 team. See fixture tables on the website for more details.
In support of the HCC Youth cricket aspirations, we are really pleased to once again promote our popular coaching and development sessions at Nether Heyford Playing Fields. Run by our team of ECB qualified coaches, and supported by HCC Club members and volunteers, the coaching sessions will run on Thursday evenings and will be supported by our new Sunday morning ‘Introduction to Cricket’ sessions; dates and times to be advised. The Thursday sessions are open to all boys and girls aged 8-14 years, previous cricketing experience is not necessary…. just a willingness to have fun! All coaches and volunteers are CRB checked and we will have qualified First Aid support at all sessions.
It is important that all members of the club make themselves familiar with, and follow, the policies and guidelines contained within the documents section of the website in order to protect the best interests of everyone involved with the club.

We look forward to welcoming back all of our junior cricketers, and invite new players of all abilities to come along.
THANK YOU to everyone for your continued support and GOOD LUCK to HCC Youth Cricket
