| February 2011
February saw a downturn in Hibeernians fortunes. After coming back from 3-1 down with just nine men, the beers unfortunately exited the Div2 League cup with a 4-3 away loss to FC of Edinburgh in what was a highly controversial game. A week later , and again after dominating the match, Hibeernian found themselves losing to Sparta 2-1 in the league.
Out of all 3 domestic cup tournaments and the Scottish, the Beers season looked almost dead an buried with the likeliness of a mid table position being the most expected of league finishes for the season. | March 2011
The sun, the warmth and the results retuned in March and saw the arrival of 2 more new players. Defender Callum Andrews and striker Ross Jannetta, who had featured for Hibeernian the previous year until an injury meant he was unable to sign, were added to the ranks.
A 4-2 win against Ultimo Goccia, a 3-2 win away to Albion and a hard fought 3-2 win away to Sparta saw Hibeernian pick up some points and keep themselves in touching distance with the top of the pack. | April 2011
with the lighter nights now here, and a huge backlog of fixtures to catchup on, The Beers found themselves playing two games per week.
Successive wins of 6-1 against Brunswick, 3-1 against Westside, 3-2 against FC of Edinburgh and 5-1 against Cameron Toll saw the Beers clock up 21 points with 7 wins on the trot. Unfortunately, that's where the good run ended as 3 successive loses against Albion, Elm and AC saw them plummet again to 5th place in the table.
With many teams from the divisions above folding, this left the association shorthanded and looking promising for a couple of extra places up for promotion. | May 2011
The final game of the season was at home to Craigroyston. Two previous wins, one in the league and one in the cup saw the Beers record two victories, 8-2 and 7-2 respectively but with both fixtures seeing a bit of bad blood. The Beers set out to nullify former striker Ross Duncan, now playing alongside his mates at Craigy but unfortunately a bit of bad decision making by the manager in going with 3 at the back saw Hibeernian go 2-0 down inside 15 minutes. The manager quickly reverted back to the favoured 4-4-2 and the Beers went onto record an impressive 8-3 victory.
The Beers finished the season on 36 points and gaining promotion with a 5th place finish. | Season 2010-2011 summary.
Hibeernians first season in competative football was very much a steep learning curve for the players and managing staff. Season 2010/2011 saw the release of many players all of whom were instrumental players at some point in the Hibeernian history.
