On a lovely early summer evening in Perth Hibs in fine form see off a good Jeanfield Swift side.
Thankfully Hibs turned up a bit more promptly than your esteemed reporter scoring twice before my pencil was extracted from its receptacle.
Kirsty scored after 30 seconds and Mhari 4 minutes later. I believe they were both splendid goals .
As I got my breath back Hibs took control of the match with some fine passing football and good retention of possession. Hibs went further ahead in 16 minutes Shannon M displaying great strength powered forward before releasing Chloe on the edge of the box to slot home coolly in the bottom right hand corner. 3-0 16 minutes.
It was four 30 seconds later. Hibs winning the ball quickly with a long ball releasing Mhari who knocked the ball round an advancing keeper and casually walked the ball into the net. 17 minutes 4-0.
Shannon M continued to shine powerfully winning loose balls, controlling midfield and distributing the ball intelligently.
Goal five came in 32 minutes Mhari one on one with the goalkeeper kept her cool well and despatched an accomplished finish. 5-0 32 minutes.
Hibs dominated the rest of the first half with Jeanfield restricted to showing glimpses of the skill they clearly have. On the stroke of half time Hibs went further ahead. A corner delivered by Ria to her usual high standard was met by Nic who headed high into the net. “Aboot time hen” came the cry form the admiring head coach. 40 minutes 6-0.
Half Time 6-0
There were four further goals in the second half. Three is a blistering 10 minutes at the start of the half.
42 minutes Mhari headed on to release Kirsty who showed good strength to hold the ball before smacking home from 7 yards.
Goal 8 came from a surging run rom Megan K who travelled 20 yards with the ball before finding Shannon T just outside the box. Shannon looked up and hit a tremendous shot high into the top right hand corner. Great goal. 8-0 47 minutes.
Two minutes later a good interchange between Mhari and Shannon M released Kirsty who in spite of tripping managed to dig out the ball and bang home form 5 yards. 9-0 49 minutes.
Although a number of further chances were created there no additions to the scoring until 70 minutes. Where an excellent long ball from the back from Nic was collected by Kirsty 35 yards out. Kirsty had lots to do but fought off all comers before stroking home form 10 yards. 10-0 70 minutes.
Hibs played well against a very decent Jeanfield side creating many many many chances and thwarted regularly be a fantastic and very vocal Jeanfield keeper. Excellent to see them back somewhere close to their footballing best. Well done gals
