Highland 7's makes a welcome return.
On Behalf of the organising committee of the Highland 7’s, I am pleased to inform you that we have decided to resurrect the 7’s in Inverness, and will be holding the tournament on Saturday 21st April 2012.
As well as giving you the opportunity of sampling our famous Highland hospitality, we hope to be able to bring you a combination of traditional 7’s rugby and flair as well as the opportunity to socialise and enjoy the day with some old friends and familiar faces. To do this we want to attract teams/clubs such as yourselves.
The Tournament will be a Men’s only competion held at Highland's Clubhouse at Canal Park, on Saturday 21st April 2012, with four pitches available.
The intended format for the tournament will be 24 teams, playing in 8 pools of 3. The Winners and Runner Up’s will progress into a straight knockout competition for the Cup, with the last placed team in each league entering the Plate knockout competition.
There will also be a BBQ/Hog Roast, Beer Tent and Entertainment during the tournament, to keep the crowd happy.
Teams will be able to camp at the clubhouse, but there are also a number of hostels and other accommodation providers in Inverness itself.
We are asking that any team who are interested in playing at the 7’s, email us at: highland7s@hotmail.co.uk to notify us that you would like to enter. We will be sending official invites out at the start of February.
Hopefully the winter won’t play havoc with the fixtures and lots of clubs will have completed their League Programme by then.
