A Rory Grant try in the last couple of minutes of the game was all that separated the sides at the end of a pulsating 70mins.

Orkney until that point had repelled everything we threw at them, with terrific defence and can count themselves unlucky to come away with nothing after such a strong performance.

An early Orkney try was followed by a penalty from us with Scott Fraser converting 3-7.

Despite playing the bulk of the 2nd half in Orkney territory we couldn’t break through.

Highland U18’s though have big hearts and always play to the final whistle. A lineout 10m out offered us a last chance. One we executed perfectly to snatch the win.

This leaves us with a perfect 7 from 7 record as we go into the October holiday break, a superb effort from all members of the squad.

A couple of weeks off to rest tired bodies and then back for the 2nd half of the league campaign.

A real test awaits in the remaining games but with a big prize of Scottish Cup entry and Champions League games up for grabs on e the squad is relishing.
