U15 Squad march on
Another comfortable win for the U15 team.
For the second time this season a visiting team arrived at Canal Park with less than 15 players and initially the prospect of any kind of decent run out for the squad was in doubt. However the early kick off of the U16 match meant that a few hardy souls, having just finished a bruising encounter with Gordonstoun, were available to take Ross Sutherland up to 15 and the game went ahead.
The first half kicked off in pouring rain but Highland quickly got into their stride with Robert Macdowell crossing the line for the first try. The weather rapidly improved and Highland was soon dominating all aspects of play. Two scores from Seamus Ross saw them into a comfortable lead. Ross Sutherlands main threat was coming from our own U16 lads and the team had to be on their toes to deal with them.
Harrison Wright went over for the 4th try and Seamus finished the half with his hat trick score. Fionnlagh Call making the first conversion of the day.
Half time: Highland 27 Ross Sutherland 0
There was no change in the pattern as we entered the second half with Highland well on top. Stephen Grant added try number 6 and Jamie Rogers getting a break from the forwards showed his speed on the wing to get his first try of the season. Fionnlagh added the next try with a pick up and dive over the line after the forwards had done all the hard work. Not content with scoring his first try of the season Jamie in his new found role as winger finished the game of with his second and third.
Final Score : Highland 52 Ross Sutherland 0
A massive thanks to the U16 lads who pulled on a Ross shirt and allowed the game to go ahead.
