Highland come out on top in Orkney mud wrestling competition.
Highland showed real grit to overcome a very hard working Orkney side and maintain their position at the top of the table.
The first half was a very even affair dominated by the forwards with both sides struggling to put any sustained phases of play together. Given the sodden nature of the pitch the lack of running rugby was hardly a surprise, but it was the home side who finished the half on top.
Half time 12 - 10
Highland needed to improve if their good run of results was not to end in the island mud. Improve they did, the ball was moved wide despite the conditions and gaps started to appear in the home teams line. The scores that the second half hard work started to come and by the final whistle Highland had a comfortable lead.
