HRFC U/14 Unstoppable Rucking Machine
HRFC U/14s hosted Ellon for the first competitive match of the new season.
HRFC 53 v 7 Ellon: Sunday 9th September
Highland won convincingly due to excellent work at the breakdown and offloading as the the first option. Alan dived over for the first try after 5 minutes which was the result of 5 good phases of ruck play from the half way line. This was quickly followed by a try from Fraser who took an offload from Calum to score under the posts. Connor, Cailean and Fraser continued to make line breaks taking the game into the opposition half. Ellon came back into the game in the second 20 scoring out wide on both occasions although Highland countered with tries of their own. Highland continued to dominate the game at the breakdown and with good offloading in the open added another 4 tries in the final period. Highland will need to work on adding a cutting edge to the backs and being better organised in defence but all in all a tremendous start and eveyone had an excellent game. Well done to the two newbies, Will and Lewis.
Man of the Match - Cailean for excellent line breaks and forceful running 'he was difficult to bring down'
Tries - Hamish (2), Alan(1), Fraser (4), Calum (5), Andrew (2)
