Highland's 1st XV worked hard, first to cancel out the impressive Strathmore scrums and mauls, then even harder to secure a morale boosting home win.
Two tries from Tam Magowan and Craig Findlater in the first-half followed by another two from Kevin Brown and Craig Little capped a fine, bonus point win. Once Strathmore had their plan of ten man rugby countered by Highland in the first-half (some hard tackling to blunt some impressive drives by the visitors) and turned completely around with the introduction of Jamie Strachan in the front row in the second-half, there was only one team in it.
The entire squad put in a lot of hard work and although there are some things to work on they will surely fancy their chances of spiking Orkney's unbeaten home record next weekend.
