Highland Aim For League Points

2 months ago By Peter Martin

Highland will want to use home advantage to help bounce back from the narrow defeat away to Falkirk last Saturday.

Coach Dave Carson wash clearly annoyed by the number of scores being ruled out, but in turn he knows his squad can easily perform well again. Their attacking ability will give visitors GHK a lot to worry about, especially as their form suggests they don’t travel well. Back into selection to bolster the already strong squad are Iain Chisholm, Craig Findlater, Will Kelly and Seumus Ross. Only Andrew Findlater and Rory Cross are missing due to injury.

Before Saturday’s kick-off the club is holding a ‘Minutes Silence’ in memory of the great Nairn MacEwan who passed away in the summer.

The 2nd XV head off to play Ross Sutherland in their last match of the Brin Cup Group One matches. Highland’s form has been unbeatable with a strong squad overwhelming Moray and RAF Lossiemouth. Coaches Brian Bell, Nathan McLaughlan and Roy Dennis have guided their players well and confidence is high to complete the group as unbeaten winners.

Shogun Conference
This weekend Highland’s junior opposition is provided by West of Scotland and the youngsters at each age group will be confident of another series of wins as they one four from five last weekend. The U18’s travel to Burnbrae on Saturday with early 8am starts for the U16’s and U15’s as they travel South on Sunday. The U14’s and U13’s get a bit more time in bed as they are home with 1pm kick-offs.
