Scottish Golden Oldies Rugby Festival

After four successful Festivals held in Perth and St Andrews, Organisers are hoping for a large turnout of Teams, to support the 5th Scottish Festival being held at Highland RFC, Inverness on Saturday 1st June, 2013. Places are limited, so enter your Team NOW !!

Today at Canal Park, the Tournament was officially launched. Colin Baillie, MBE and President Highland RFC said “Highland RFC are delighted to host the 5th Scottish Golden Oldies Tournament and today sees us begin the organisation of the tournament to be held at Canal Park Inverness on 1st June 2013. We extend a warm Highland welcome to all who wish to participate and spectate and look forward to seeing you all in Inverness in June”

Provost of Inverness Alex Graham who was also present stated “I’m very pleased that the 5th Scottish Golden Oldies Rugby Festival being held in Inverness this year. We all look forward to welcoming many visiting players to the City, perhaps including a few rugby “legends”.

Highland RFC is an excellent choice as host club. I am sure Inverness will prove to be an first-class venue, and that the Festival in our city will fulfil the “Golden Oldies” ethos of “Fun, Friendship and Fraternity”.

SRU President, Alan Lawson commented “I would like to congratulate The Golden Oldies and Highland RFC for organising the 5th Golden Oldies Festival of Rugby in Inverness. This gives another area of Scotland the opportunity to showcase and host Golden Oldies rugby and I hope the whole occasion is an enormous success with a great turnout of teams and supporters Best wishes”

Entries are now been taken for the Tournament which will feature teams, made up of players over the ages of 35, from all over the Scottish Rugby Community. Download the Entry Form at the bottom of this article.
