Reds Hold On To Unbeaten Run
The Reds also had an off day on Saturday as they took nearly an entire half to get their game going against Moray before winning 17-12.
Moray certainly meant business and they pegged Highland back fairly easily before going over for a converted try after ten minutes for 0-7. They kept up the pressure and touched down again to further in the lead at 0-12. The Reds couldn’t make any decent use of the win and it was a sign of what was to come as they kept the ball in hand to see Joe Targoa score a try for the half to end at 5-12.
In the second-half the home side played a tighter game into the wind and benefitted from keeping the ball in hand. This saw further tries by Epi Vukicea and Viliame Sinu sealing the win, but not after some stout defence by both forwards and backs. ‘BJ’ Cameron overcame a lack lustre start to be the man of the match. Highland’s 2nd XV will need to improve a lot for the trip to Banff.
