First Home Game Of The Season.
BEN SNOOK SCORES PROBABLY THE BEST GOAL OF THE SEASON?
Highworth started very brightly pushing and probing Holyport at every moment they could.
Holyport showed why they won their league last year was no fluke by playing some good football and tough challenges when needed, but it was Highworth who created the best chances of the half with Grabe and Barnes going close, Holyport being kept at bay by Highworth's well organised defence and tireless work from midfield.
With the half coming to a close it was BEN SNOOK who tried his luck from 30 yards with his left foot and sent the ball past the Holyport goalkeeper into the net scoring one of the best goals seen at the Elms in many a year. Great strike Ben !!!!
THE 2ND HALF saw Holyport make changes to try to get themselves back into the game, but Highworth's defence came out on top, and created chances to increase their lead up the other end, with Gary Hill heading against the bar and Sheppard who came on for his home debut went close on a couple times and a penalty claim when DAN HILDER stuck the ball through the legs of a Holyport defender who then fouled DAN.
Highworth can take a lot of pluses from the game and on to the next.
Holyport will be a very good side in this league and will win more than they lose.
