Vipers were hosts to Hinckley on one of the warmest days of the year so far. Ground conditions were perfect.
Hinckley got the game under way with Vipers gathering the ball, possession was lost quickly to Hinckley whom pressurized vipers defence for first five minutes. Jackson with a good shipment from the rook saw the ball move down the line finding kingdom on the wing with pace from the halfway line met little resistance to plant the ball in the corner for Hinckley’s first points. Tuffin slotted the ball between the posts for the conversion. Hinckley again dominant from the restart, Tuffin with a nice run and offload to Kingdon to again go over to increase the lead. Kingdon unlucky with the conversion.
Vipers persistent in attack at the restart keeping Hinckley pinned in their own half Hinckley maintaining good discipline in defence closing all the gaps and finally stealing the ball to release Collings to burst through the back line to go between the posts for Hinckley’s third. Tuffin with the conversion.
Vipers with a skewed kick out to the side at the restart saw Sexton gather it with an open run at pace for a try between the posts for Hinckley’s fourth, Tuffin unlucky for the conversion.
Vipers gaining possession at the restart shifting the ball between an angry looking pack from an arboreal dwelling, Hinckley shutting down their advance with a solid tackle from Branson.
Vipers defending well but could not hold Ward’s advance as he smashed through the centre to go over for Hinckley. Steele converted which brought the end of the first half.

Vipers up their game at the start of the second half attacking well and forcing a try line clearance. Hinckley making a couple of handling errors, if not for a forward pass Vipers would be on the score sheet. Hinckley made changes to the squad at this point which kept the balance of play in Hinckley’s favour with good ball out wide to Roberts saw the winger power down the sideline for a try in the corner. Baker short for the conversion. From the restart came an action replay from the same duo with a try in the corner from Roberts and short conversion attempt. Vipers not disheartened continued with good spirit and want for the game mounted several attacks but Hinckley defence proving good to deny them. A good kick up field by Hinckley dropped the ball over the try line Roberts managing to dive on it for Hinckley. Baker converting. Some good play by the Hinckley forwards at the final play of the game with Rowe powering over to seal the victory.
