This week saw the U13's travel to new pastures, Kenilworth, a team we have never encountered before. Perfect conditions saw a good start from the boys in black and gold. A powerful run from Wykes paved the way for Ridgway to score the first try, 0-5. A period of poor handling by the U13's followed, however 2 passes were strung together and Wykes sped away to make the score 0-12. This woke up Kenilworth and they set up a few attacks, but the Hinckley defence stood strong. A break out saw Taylor smash through several defenders and score in the corner, 0-19. Yet again Pope and his pack were awesome and dominated the scrum, this allowed the backs to attack over and over again, the half ending with tries from Wheatcroft and Wykes and a score of 0-31.
The second half saw Kenilworth chip over the Hinckley defence and win a foot race to the visitors try line however the ball went dead and Hinckley were let off the hook. The U13's were not so forgiving and turned the screw, blowing the opposition away, tries from Ridgway, Miller(2), Wykes, Wheatcroft and Taylor made it 0-65. A consolation try for Kenilworth made it 7-65, before Madden ended the game scoring after stealing the ball from a Kenilworth player and romping over to score, 7-70. A great display from the squad who seem to be getting better each week, well done. The U13's are sponsored by Heating and Bathroom Supplies(Midlands) Ltd.
