Some of you may already be aware but for those who don't, a group of what I will happily class as " crazy " HRFC players parents will be taking part in this years Reaper Run on March 22nd.

The Reaper run!!!!!! A 10K run of PAIN!!! Going over rivers, walls, through tunnels, gullies, descents, ascents, bogs and plenty more!!! The mud will be our constant companion!!

Together, we aim to raise as much money as we possibly can for our two chosen Charities, The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and KEEPTHEBEAT, a local charity that provides support to the families affected by Congenital Heart Defects, based at Glenfield Hospital.

Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance have been circling the skies of the east Midlands since 2008, keeping people safe and helping save lives every single day of the year.

As a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service, they attend many different incidents including road traffic collisions, horse riding accidents, sporting injuries and medical emergencies such as Cardiac arrest - to name but a few!

At HRFC the Air Ambulance has become a familiar sight, most recently being called to a serious neck injury of our First Team Captain and our Under 9's coach, Ross Cunningham.

On average, they attend 3 rescue missions every single day with the capacity to attend more should the need arise.

EACH RESCUE MISSION COSTS AN AVERAGE OF £1700!!! - non of which is funded by the Government!

KEEPTHEBEAT based at Glenfield hospital is an exciting new charity established with an aim to provide hope and support to the families affected by Congenital Heart defects.

This charity is especially close to myself and Ben as our Niece at the age of only 7 months had to undergo major heart surgery to close 3 holes in her heart.

Thanks to the fantastic work from all the staff at Glenfield Hospital, Olivia's operation and recovery went well. KEEPTHEBEAT played a major role in the help and support given to the family.

If you would like to support our team and help raise much needed funds, please follow the links below. Every single penny raised will go directly to the charities.

Please help us help them help you!!!
