It is with great sadness that HRFC announce the passing of Peter Walton.

It is with great sadness that HRFC announce the passing of Peter Walton. Peter was a former 1st team player who formed part of the formidable front row – Walton, Petty & Birch who were feared around the Midlands in the 60s & 70s. He played 300 games for the first team.

Many outside rugby will remember Peter along with his brothers, Mick, Charlie and William as a partner within the Walton & Long Butchery. Peter was the one with the smile.

Personally, I will always remember Peter as a Hinckley RFC Chairman who saw the best in people and would always have a positive word. I am absolutely certain there were times when his patience was tested in full but he never allowed it to affect his judgement. A staunch supporter of the recent developments at the club, Peter will be sadly missed both now and in the future. He is survived by his wife Linda and daughters Nikki and Maxine.

Rest in peace Peter Walton you will forever be a part of Hinckley Rugby Club. Our condolences go out to family and friends.

The funeral will be held on Monday 30th April 2pm at St Saviours Church, Dartmouth followed by the wake at the Yacht Club afterwards.
