Back to Back wins
On the back of a great win against woolston last week Hindley looked to make it back to back wins for the first time this season.Attacking first Hindleys forwards ran strong with bethany heyes and makenzie mears applying great preasure. Quick play the balls gave josh robinson the chance to score the first try of the game with an excellent solo effort. Couthberts bounced back with a well worked try, but you could see early on that this was going to be Hindleys day as the lads were well up for it. This was a day of great individual trys as liam mercer went over from a well worked crossover and quickly followed up with another full lenther. There must of been something in the water bottles this week because the tackling from jack whitehead, Rio Roberts, bethany heyes and marshal dudley was outstanding and gave Hindley great field possition for lewis naylor to score his first but by no means last try of his season(well done lewis). Hindley interchanged the forwards and with kian naylor and aaron biggs Hindley showed there power and it wasn'nt long before kian naylor made his mark with his first try of the game.Couthberts came back with the last try of the half but it was hindley half by a country mile..
HT St cuthberts cougars 2- Hindley 5
The second half finnished much like the first with a cougars try, but today was about defence and Jamie Michenson, liam mercer, mollie gregson and again Jack whitehead hounding the cuthberts attacking line. Rio Roberts who seemed to be growling for most of the game showed strenth and agility to go over for his first try of the season. With no coach on the field in the second half this was going to be interesting but to there credit they all did very well. Great scrambling defence from marshal dudley gave Hindley the ball and Liam mercer turned on the turbo boosters and went over for his first hatrick of the season. Then came something a little special from hindley, Jack whitehead passed the ball to josh robinson who off loaded to Rio Roberts on his own try line, showing a clean set of heals weaved his way through to score his second try of the game(keep it up rio). This seemed to be a display of individual tallent today with everyone side stepping, evading and tackling of the highest level. Cuthberts scored but hindley bounced straight back with another josh robinson try. Cuthberts came back but Jamie Michenson who got the medal today for biggest smile after scoring a try scored a full lenther to be proud of(well done lad). Last but no means least kian naylor rounded off a great win with the last try of the game.
FT St cuthberts cougars 5- Hindley 11
