| Hindley | 3 | vs | 9 | Wigan St Judes |
Hindley valiant in defeat
Hindley put in a tremondous effort despite going down 9-3 in a game that was closer than the scoreline suggests
Hindley put up a tremendous effort against St Judes and the scoreline of 9-3 does not do justice to the effort and determination shown by the Hindley youngsters.
For long periods of the game there was very little between the two sides and it was only until the final 10 minute that St Judes stretched their lead.
Early on the sides where level at 2-2 with Hindley’s trys coming from Josh H and Callum h who showed up well in attack all game. Just before the whistle for the end of the first period St Judes edged in front.
Into the second period and St Judes scored first and despite several close attempts Hindley good not get the ball over the line and St Judes scored with the final play to take a 5-2 lead into the final period.
Despite a further try from Callum h to give Hindley hope St Judes ran away with it late in the game.
Showing up well in attack were Cristiano P, Alfie H, Kian G and Daniel B and there were big efforts in defence from Callum h, Joshua H, Joshua M, Kian G, and Alfie H.
The improvement in the team is there for all to see and if they continue to practice and show the same levels of enthusiasm and determination in games they will soon be surprising a good many teams. Thanks must go to the coaching team of Gary Hough, Dave Farrimond and Mark Doyle who have dedicated so much time and effort into the team.
