As our player numbers increase in 2014 and that brings in extra parents/grandparents, we would like to make those aware both new and old of the volunteering opportunities that exist with Hindley ARLFC.

Volunteering at Hindley can be anything from a couple of hours a week up to more, and can involve duties in the week as opposed to match days only. There are also as well as the traditional duties involved, new ones such as photography, journalism and IT. We have come so far, relatively quickly, due to the great efforts of our volunteers and the work they do and we know if we can add others to the list, then we can continue to improve our club, match day experience and be the envy of all.

A few roles we would like to see if there are interest in are :

Kitchen

Assisting on Match days and working in either the kitchen or the pitch side tea bar, providing full refreshments.

Changing Rooms/Pitchside

Cleaning the changing rooms after use and preparing for the following games. Ensuring that rubbish bins are taken up to the pitches to help keep our pitches and surrounds looking as pleasant as they can be.

Kit Man

Either for our NCL team, who play on a Saturday or assisting our junior and youth teams on a Sunday morning, putting up kit and getting it ready for laundry after.

Match Day Eqpt

Someone to take responsibility for the safe stewardship, stowing away and making sure that post protectors, match day flags, pitch side roping off
Eqpt are all in full working order and ready for match days. Making sure our equipment container is kept clean and tidy and professional. This role can be done on non match days to suit.

Photography

We already have brilliant contributions for match day pics but can never cover all the pitches at the same time, so if you have an interest in photography and would like to see your pictures published on our web site, go for it !

Coaching

One of the biggest responsibilities of our volunteers and generally the biggest hours commitment wise. If you wish to consider coaching a team, the club can assist with assistance with coaching courses right from level 1 upwards.

As our website and social media gets ever more important, and is widely used by all, we can always do with an extra pair of hands. This involves planning fixtures, updating results and league tables, etc. The beauty of this is a lot of the work can be done either daytime or from home and not tying you down to being at the club like some of the other roles. We also create a fortnightly match day programme for our NCL team and if you would like to be involved with the preparation of this , formatting the articles and publishing then please get in touch. We are also looking at recording and publishing our NCL games on either our Hindley TV channel or a dedicated you tube channel.

Committee

We are also looking for people interested in joining the club committee. Roles are varied ,including representing the club at the NWC leagues we are in, 7-12, 13-15, 16-18 and all aspects of running the club.

Fundraising

As new people come into the club, there are new opportunities for sponsorships either with playing kit, club apparel or other ventures around the club. Please contact Averill , if you would like to discuss further.

Signwriting

While we have our wish list out, if anyone can help with creating some motivational quotes and images in our home dressing rooms, then please get in touch.

With all the roles above there is a variety of different training options and all volunteers interacting with our youth and junior teams must complete a full CRB disclosure.
