A tough opening friendly saw Hindley run out worthy winners.....

Hindley started the better of the two sides in the heavy conditions..
They were Lead well in the early stages by forwards John Stryker (Best game for the club) , Sam Prescott and Allan Nuttall who took the game to the Woolston front row .
With Jake Hughes and Chris Scarborough constantly probing for an opening in the visitors defensive line which nearly resulted in tries for Allan Nuttall and Chris Piercy .
Hindleys defence held firm with all that Woolston Could throw at them Tom Unsworth , Rob Bailey and Lewis Thornhill all prominent .
A mid field break from Luke Belshaw made Hindley some good yards , from the resulting play the ball Hindley should have crossed only for a superb interception which saw the scrum half go in from around 70 mtrs .
Hindley drew level 10 mins later on the back of two penalties which saw the quick thinking Chris Scarborough pick out Rob Bailey on the blind side who put Winger Chris Piercy over in the corner.
Hindley started to get on top and again the same combination saw winger Chris Piercy claim his 2nd of the game.
Both teams went close in the final minutes of the half but Hindley held on to there narrow lead.

Half Time Hindley 8 - 6 Woolston

The 2nd half started well for the hosts which saw Raith Stringer put away only to be brought back for a forward pass.
Minutes later Raith Stringer crossed after good work from Ryan Mckenzie ..Chris Scarborough converting.
At the other end once again Hindleys goal line defence was superb
Hindleys Lewis Thornhill made a great break only to be hauled down on the Woolston 40 mtr line . Good work from Sam Keep and Tom Unsworth saw Hindley 10 mtrs away , Jake Hughes kick rebounded off a Woolston Player into the gleeful arms of winger Raith Stringer which saw him cross in the corner ... Chris Scarborough converting
With minutes remaining both teams managed to cross the white wash ..Hindley through Allan Nuttall who crossed from close range . with Chris Scarborough converting
and the Woolston winger who crossed after good work from the scrum half and centre .
