Hindley head to Leigh to face in-form Miners

Leigh Miners Rangers are the opponents in front of Hindley this week and are sure to be keen to halt the Black & Gold's winning run by maintaining their own good form in the process.

The Leigh club has a fantastic history in the amateur game and each age froup at the club produces competetive teams and many players have graduated and signed professional deals over the years such as Denis Betts and Tommy Martyn.

In our most recent clash with Miners in September 2011, Hindley's late rally wasn't quite enough to gain a win on the Leyther's turf as we went down to a 24-30 defeat. The game was very close and both sides showed great skills and commitment throughout the 40 minutes.

Hindley took great encouragement from this display and began to improve week-on-week and the lads are looking forward to testing themselves once again against one of the best teams in the Under 10 age group.

Hindley will be without Sam Bowery due to a soft tissue injury to his knee, initially suffered in the game against Orrell St James at the beginning of the month, and the doctor's advice is to rest for 7 days. Sam will be there to support his mates from the touchline and he's hoping to cheer the lads onto victory.

The coach's noted that the performance against Ince Rose Bridge last weekend wasn't the best of the season but the reaction of the players, even in victory, demonstrated that they have the required motivation to improve against Miners.

Let's get behind the boys for what should be a great contest on Sunday!
