The Gorillas raised £8489.63 for Hire a Hero in 2014.

INTRODUCTION

The Gorillas concept was established on 1st February 2014. Our aims and ambitions were to raise funds and awareness for Hire a Hero by forming a club of like-minded individuals who shared our common goals of supporting the charity. The Gorillas are principally based around a rugby team, but in fact, cover a multitude of events and activities both sporting and non-sporting.

2014 OVERVIEW

The year has proved a resounding success, during which we have been able to raise a significant amount of money, whilst still managing to absorb the considerable set-up costs of the club. In addition to the actual money generated, the Gorillas have helped raise the profile of the charity into some new geographic and commercial areas. The success and impact of this awareness raising is difficult to quantify, but we can assume that the increased exposure for the charity will prove to be extremely useful in their long-term sustainability and development, ensuring the charity are able to continue with their fantastic work for years to come. In addition, to our own events, the Gorillas have been prominent in supporting Hire a Hero’s events throughout 2014 including the boxing night in London, the golf day at Stoke Park and most significantly, the Spitfires game and dinner at St Athan.

THE FUTURE

2015 is an exciting time for the Gorillas, and we expect to continue our work on behalf of the charity through a series of events, which we are confident will generate more money and awareness year on year.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout 2014, and we hope you will continue to do so throughout 2015.
