The sport of netball in Hong Kong boasts over 600 registered members. The popularity of Netball at HKFC has grown substantially in recent years. The established Netball Division has 5 teams that compete in three of the five divisions of the Hong Kong Netball Association Ladies League. Club and Typhoons compete in Division One, Whirlwinds represent the Club in Division Two, and Tornadoes and Hurricanes in Division Four. With two Netball courts in the Indoor Sports Hall, the Club is a venue for league matches that take place between October and April each year on Monday evenings. As one of the biggest Netball clubs in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Football Club is also one of the most successful. In addition Club team players have represented Hong Kong in both the World and Asian Championships. HKFC has two qualified and dedicated Netball coaches to help the teams improve and develop their skills and understanding of the game. Club teams train every week on Wednesdays during the season.
In addition the Netball DSA coordinates mixed social matches for Members and Non-members, during the Summer off-season period in July and August and this is very popular with players at all levels. Junior development is also something offered on Wednesday afternoons during school term time and staffed by our coaches and club volunteers. Overseas tours in Asia and the hosting of touring teams is becoming more frequent as interest in the sport continues to grow. Our social calendar is varied and allows opportunities for Netball DSA members to socialise outside of the confines of competition. These include barbecues, cocktails parties, trivia nights, Tram Parties and an annual AGM and Awards Dinner.
