Earlier today, the draw for the FA Vase 5th Round at Wembley pitted Holbeach United v Erith & Belvedere - March to the Arch!!!...

"In any cup competition, all you can ask for is a home draw", goes the old sporting adage, so Joint Chiefs John Chand & Graham Drury will have been delighted to secure home-field advantage for the visit of Erith & Belvedere on Saturday 7th February - KO: 3.00pm.

The current Vase run matches the best the Tigers have mustered in the venerable old competition - win in the last 16 and it's Quarter-Final time; hard not to dream of a day in the sunshine at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 9th May!...

Of course, complacency & ill-fortune has done in many a talented team 'destined to win a pot' before now, but something about this season's run suggests that just maybe the Tigers' name could be on the trophy.

With all seemingly lost last weekend at Thurnby Nirvana as the clock showed 5 minutes of added-time had already been played, Kern Miller's last-gasp equaliser re-ignited the belief and victory was secured in extra-time.

Let's hope the feelgood factor spreads far & wide across South Lincolnshire in the coming days/weeks to ensure we get a bumper crowd at Carter's Park to help give the team a 'Twelfth Man' advantage. The club will be releasing a special A4 poster soon on the website & on Twitter in the hope everyone will be encouraged to download, print & share/display as many as possible in the hope of getting hundreds of locals going Tiger-Crazy!

Of course, ahead of that massive FA Vase fixture in early Feb, this coming Saturday 24th January (KO: 3.00pm) the Tigers have an equally huge league match against top-of-the-table AFC Rushden & Diamonds! Diamonds' currently sit eight points ahead of the Tigers so it's vital the lads take something from the game - we hope to see as many of you as possible at the ground on Saturday; our visitors always bring a raucous/good-natured contingent along - promises to be a cracking atmosphere!

The big games are coming thick & fast - as the respected old Buffalo Bills American Football coach, Marv Levy, would say to his players as they prepared to take the stage for the biggest of games:-

"Where would you rather be than right here, right now?!..."

Come On You Tigers!!!
