Ressies draw 2-2 at Harworth Colliery

The point saw the Brookies move up a place to 10th in the league

Match report - Harworth Colliery Reserves 2-2 Holbrook Sports Reserves 2/12/17 CML Div 1.

Holbrook started really well and an early freekick from Connor Mason went narrowly wide.

Harworth broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when the Harworth forward's shot hit the underside of the bar on its way to the back of the net 1-0.

Holbrook battled back instantly with Sam Collins shooting just wide and Jordan Miles having a shot.

After 22 minutes the Brookies were awarded a freekick 25 yards out after good play by Connor Mason. Connor Mason whipped the freekick in and Adam Boyfield headed home for a deserved equaliser 1-1.

After Holbrook scored they looked the better side but couldn't add to the scoreline.

The Brookies again started the half well with Jordan Miles looking dangerous and Ben Wallace going close.

Bradley Walker then won a 50/50 in midfield and a great passage of play saw the ball fall to Jordan Miles who placed it home for a Holbrook lead in the 55th minute 1-2.

Brookies were unable to hold on to the lead and Harworth equalised in the 67th minute 2-2.

Both teams went looking for a winner. Holbrook's best chance fell to Archie Dearie and after good initial play, the chance rolled agonisingly wide.

The point saw the Brookies move up a place to 10th in the league.

Daniel Troop said "We started really well and it was disappointing to only come away with a point. It's always a hard place to come and long journey but the lads did the club proud. If the players take the same mentality into Wednesday game at home to AFC Kilburn I'm sure we can get a positive result."
