Mark Owen (Take That) (1987-1992)

Mark played for the wood for 3 years 1987 - 1992 and even played during his height of fame with the Boy Band playing for Peter Bird and Ian Moffat. Then for Dave Henry in th Manchester League clocking up more than 150 appearances for the club on the right wing before moving on to bigger and better things

Jason Glasgow (1994/1995)

Signed from Sunday Football by former Hollinwood stallwart Glyn Mellor Jason was a huge sucess and a forward who was clubs leading goalscorer in the one of the clubs best seasons 1994/1995 helping the club to finish at that time an unheard of 3rd position in the first division. Half way through the season Jason was spotted by Mossley in the paid ranks of the Unibond League. where after a season with Mossley Jason was signed by Chadderton where he playes for 4 more seasons before retiring because of work commitments.

Rob Overy (2001/1002)

Rob was another forward who was signed from local Sunday football in 2001/2002 by Manager Mark Killganon. Rob having played Semi Pro football in Australia had no problem adapting to life i the Manchester Laegue and finished the leagues top goal scorer his first season with 38 Goals toping Jasons previous best. Rob formed a deadly Partnership with Leland Mayhall who between them ended up scoring over 60 goals. The following Season Rob signed for neighbours Royton Town where he suffered a serious Knee injury. After coming back due to his work commitments Rob only managed to play five a side and Sunday Football. In 2007 Rob emigrated back to Australia where he still resides.

James Gore (1999/2001)

James was signed by manager Glyn Mellor in 1999 and was an instant hit. In his two seasons at the wood James earned a reputation as a tough tackling Centre Midfield playmaker who scored some spectacular goals . He left at start of 2002 season due to work commitments and moved to York. It was no suprise that james was snapped up by semi Pro Club Harrogate Railway in the North East Counties. In his 3 seasons there he took part in there Historic F.A Cup run that resulted in them reaching the first round and playing Bristol City Live on match of the day. The following Season James moved to Unibond Side Goole Town Where he still plays. An avid wood fan he constantly checks our results and progress. James has now retired from Semi Professional football and along with another former player Kent Mayhall they run a successfull training company i2i limited. The company has created a new initiative getting long term unemployed back to work through football. They employ former pro footballer Marco Gabiadini and work closely ith many pro managers particularily Sir Alex Ferguson, Mark Hughes and Sam Aladyce,

Adam Morning (2004/2005)

Adam joined the wood as a 17 year old having been released by Manchester City. Adam had a fantastic season for the wood playing on the left hand side of midfield. He created chance after chance for woods forwards with his dazzling runs and fantastic crosses. Part of woods historic promotion winning team adam was a firm favourite at Lime Lane. In 2005 Mossley Manager Darren Beckford expressed an interest in Adam and he signed immediately becoming a regular and was part of the side that gained promotion into the Unibond Premier Division. The following season still only 20 he was transfered to Woodley where he attracted scouts from neighbouring Stockport County. At the start of 2007/2008 Adam was again transfered to Yorkshire Side and fellow Unibond Club Bradford Park Avenue where he played under former Mossley Manager Benny Phillips. In 2008/2009 Adam played for Northwich Victoria but transfered to Ramsbottom United at the start of 2009/2010 where he currently plays
