Pre-season training begins with new trainer working alongside Team Managers and Assistants.

Holwell are pleased to announce that Ex Leicester City, Celtic and Stoke Goalkeeper Carl Muggleton has joined the Coaching Staff at Welby Road. Carl brings with him his great experience along with full professional coaching qualifications and will be a great asset to the teams at Holwell as they prepare for the new season.

The training routines organised by Carl will span the needs of both First and Reserve Team players and gives the individual team managers the chance to have more one to one activity with defenders, midfielders or forwards whilst those players not involved in that activity are put through general skill routines by Carl. This will help keep the interest and variety at a high level making it enjoyabe to come to training, particularly now in the run up to the start of the new season.

Too often teams get into the mindframe that running is the answer to preparing for the new season - introducing the ball into a variety of routines makes it more interesting for the players involved and speeds up their preparation for the new season ahead.

What a good start for Carl, 34 players at training on Tuesday (10-07) including Ben Smedley & Jay Kirkby all the way from Cotgrave, just what we were hoping for. a positive response to Carl's professionalism, commitment & enthusiasm. KEEP IT GOING.

Any chance Carl will help out with the Youth Team ?
Sure the lads would benefit greatly from having a professional approach to the training sessions
