East Division Round Up

SATURDAY 30th SEPTEMBER
SWP East: All seven East games were played today and with Friday nights fixture that made a full set of matches. The top clash saw 3rd placed St Martins host 2nd placed Crediton United at Minster Park where Kirton ran out 4-1 victors with all the goals coming in the first half. Crediton move level on points with leaders Newton Abbot Spurs, but off the top on goal difference. Bovey Tracey climbed to 3rd place with a 2-1 win from the trip to Ilfracombe Town whilst Teignmouth are up to 4th after a 2-1 home success over in-form Budleigh Salterton. Torridgeside also climbed a place, to 5th, as they won 2-1 away at Brixham. Only one other side claimed maximum points and that was new-boys Honiton Town who had a 1-0 success at home to Galmpton & Roselands. Two matches ended in score draws with both of them finishing 3-3. In North Devon, Appledore shared the spoils with visiting Sidmouth Town whilst in South Devon, Liverton United and the University of Exeter collected a point each.
FRIDAY 29th SEPTEMBER
SWP East: League leaders Newton Abbot Spurs suffered just a second defeat of the season tonight after visitors Axminster Town came from behind to win 2-1 at the Recreation Ground. Spurs remain 3 points clear at the top but are now within touching distance of the chasing pack whilst Axminster climbed a place and into the Top 10 of the league table.
WEDNESDAY 27th SEPTEMBER
SWP East: Sidmouth Town celebrated playing their first ever home floodlit match with a 3-1 win over the University of Exeter in tonight’s only East match. The Vikings had a first win of the season as well which enabled them to climb off the foot of the table on goal difference from Alphington who are now bottom.
TUESDAY 26th SEPTEMBER
SWP East: Crediton United climbed two places and up into 2nd position in the East table after a 2-0 win at home to Appledore under the Lords Meadow floodlights this evening. Kirton are now just 3 points behind the league leaders whilst the North Devon visitors remain in 14th place.
