Here we go again, back into league action where did the summer go? For some the summer was spent with Danny Wilson (S&C coach) running up hills, spinning and improving there sprint technique and the 1st team squad this weekend reflects the hard work put in by the lads. Two of H&P new signings will be making an appearance this weekend, Sean McCallum (back row) will be on the 1st team bench hoping to bring his all action game to Durham at some point. Alex Coxon (centre) will be looking to make a impact in the second team, unfortunately Connor Drinkwater has broken his hand and will be unavailable for a few more months yet.

A youthful back-line has been selected with the experienced Andy Turner at 9 bringing the average age up to 22. As ever a large pack will hopefully give the backs the opportunity to showcase there skills but will also look to cause some damage in scrums and lineouts with Richard Thirkell leading from the front. A special mention to Chops (Andy White) who has been outstanding in preseason training, Danny commented in his commitment and fitness levels well done Chopsy Ojo who starts in the second row. We are unfortunately loosing two players this weekend as Callum Jackson (Hooker) and Stephen Hunt (Winger/Team Model) go off to University yep two H&P players are going to Uni. I think everyone will agree that these two lads will be a massive miss around the club and wish them the very best for the future, we look forward to having you back soon.

An exceptionally strong second team makes the trip to Durham, with 1st team regulars over the past few seasons, Michael Thubron, David Heckles, Luke Watson, Rob Hebron and Andy Raine looking to give all their experience to the rest of the lads. With competition for places high at the moment we are hoping to hear good reports.

This has a knock on effect to the 3rd team who are also very strong, the 3rd team host Sedgefield at home on the outside pitch, A few of the lads might be a bit bruised from the Westoe encounter.
