New coaching setup, new players and pre-season information.

For the 2016-17 season Horden RFC are pleased to announce a new coaching team. Glenn Bowman will continue in his role as head coach but will now be assisted by Durham County and former Darlington Mowden Park hooker Richard Thirkell. Completing the trio will be Craig Gilmour, head of rugby at East Durham College and former Horden & West Hartlepool player.

Glenn Bowman said "It's great to have Ritchie & Craig back at the club as part of the coaching set-up. We're starting to make some big strides off the pitch, these appointments show our intent to match this on the pitch. Both Ritchie & Craig will bring their own style & expertise that will benefit all the players, its a really positive move for the club".

The new coaching team was confirmed during this week and has full support of the committee who see it as an important step in their plan for the long term future of the club. The coaches are due to meet prior to pre-season to discuss all aspects of club rugby including pre-season training, game plan, selection and training policies.
