Horley Town v Abbey Rangers
You could be forgiven for seeing this game as an opportunity to get the league season back on track but the final result proved that nothing should be taken for granted.
In all honesty that probably wasn't the reason for the defeat , as the team is reminded constantly of the need to earn positive results .
What did seem apparent was the difficulty the eleven had in adjusting to a new formation which whilst not what would normally be used was forced upon the team due to a number of missing players.
Shape though doesn't excuse competing and getting the basics right and in a torrid twenty minute spell just before the break we conceded four to put an end to this game as a contest.
Any thoughts of a second half revival were immediately dashed as the fifth was scored by the visitors with ease and with forty minutes still to play it was only the fact that Abbey took their foot off the gas that we didn't concede further.
Second place in the table is but a distant memory.
