Houghton RFC are back on the road again this weekend to visit Prudhoe and Stocksfield in their re-arranged fixture for Durham Northumberland Three.
After two home victories, the Dairy Lane men are ready to hit the road again and end their away record with a win in hopeful sight.
Chris Simpson, Director of Rugby said: “We need to keep building from the past two consecutive wins.
“Our confidence is there - we just need to execute how we play for the full eighty minutes to come out with the result we want.”
Last week saw a strong fighting performance from Houghton as they chased Seghil in an end to end battle.
Tries came through with team work and consistency of the game seeing Matt Marchant and Mark Douglass cross the line.
But it was Fly Half, Dan Bearn who worked his magic with his boot securing 14 points including the game changing last three points from a penalty.
Meanwhile, their opponents this weekend, Prudhoe and Stocksfield were more than marginally defeated (44-14) when they faced Seghill away at the end of September.
Both sides have played just four fixtures so far to open their season in Durham Northumberland Three.
Securing one more win in the league than their fellow opponents, Houghton currently sit eighth while Prudhoe and Stocksfield line the bottom of the table in twelfth.
Simspon added: “Last week we played a good off-loading attacking game which gained us important depth.
This weekend we need to continue attacking with intent and provide ourselves with support runners to finish our chances.”
The game will kick off at Stocksfield sports ground at 3pm.
Houghton take on the road with them a slightly tweaked side from last weekend:
Allan Scott, Ryan Main, Matt Marchant, Richard Lydiatt, Allan Widdowfield, Michael Dixon, Adam Reay, Anthony Bolton, Gary Shepherd, Graham Hughes, Marc Wiley, Brett Henderson, Lewis Wilson, Graeme Bennett, Tom Birtley, Stephen Wilson, Ryan Pink, Ross Alexander and Alex Hogg for their first games back of the season and lastly substitute Danny Bradley.
