Dragons History 1 of 3

1. A brief history of the Dragons

Huddersfield Dragons Hockey Club was formed by the merger of Huddersfield Hockey Club (est. 1900) and Lockwood Park Dragons Hockey Club (est. 1920) to create one of the largest clubs in the Yorkshire Region.

In 2011 Huddersfield Dragons HC then merged with Kirklees Junior Girls HC to further expand our ability to offer hockey to all ages and abilities.

The club currently runs; four senior men's teams, three senior ladies teams, Masters and Grand Masters as well as a full complement of Girls and Boys junior teams from Mini Dragons (aged 4+) through to U16's.
We run a great back to hockey experience through the summer and had the most successful mixed team in the North of England, reaching the National cup quarter-final in the 2017/18 season.
