After going 5-0 down in the first minute YM started to get to grips moving up quickly in defence and causing Huddersfield to make unforced errors. This gave YM plenty of possession and it wasn’t long before the impressive Aaryn Golding Belafonte broke out of the tackle to race in at the corner and level the scores. This seemed to lift the YM spirits even more and it wasn’t long before Danny Fisher, who was outstanding throughout both in attack and defence, broke away only to be held up inches short of the line, this then enabled Ethan Bailey, after some great support work, to finish the move scoring in the corner for a 2-1 lead. YM continued to put their opponents under immense pressure and it wasn’t long before Shea Foster side stepped two defenders to score his first try for the club. YM should have gone in at half time with a comfortable lead but Huddersfield won a scrum on the last play and broke round the blind side to outsprint the covering defence to make it 3-2 at the break.
In the second half YM dominated and it was soon 4-2 with Noah Brook racing from the half way line to score. From the restart YM moved up quickly causing Huddersfield to lose possession and after a couple of drives from George Garside and Harry Beirne the hard working Keiran Carr and Jack
Franklyn Thomson where on hand to get the ball out for Aaryn to outsprint the defence for his second try. From the restart YM where excellent and it wasn’t long before Noah Brook went in for his second try to earn his side a well-deserved 30 points to 10 win.
Also worthy of mention is Jamie Standish who had an excellent game.
All in all a fantastic all round performance.
