This game was the bench mark on how far Dockers have come this season Cottingham tigers have yet to be beat this season they have been beating all teams easily. Dockers wanted this 1.
Almost at full strength it was going to be hard. It was a game with some excellent tackling from both sides with both sides showing some brilliant attacking moves only to be cancelled out by strong defences. Cott tigers finally crossed the white wash to break the dead lock just before half time. The second half under way and still both defences working hard. Then a crunching tackle by Rhys Coates knocked the ball out of the big tiger’s hands. Morgan Cutsforth scoops up the loose ball and will a turn of pace leaves the cott defence for dust and scores in the corner. At this stage both sides would have taken the draw but with only minutes left tigers managed to scramble the ball over the line after consulting the big screen for many minuets the try was given. With not enough time for Dockers to respond Cottinghams record still stood final score 2-1 cottingham man of the match award went to Rhys Coates for some crunching tackles after the game the Cottingham Tigers coach said this was more like a state of origin match than an under 8s game well done to both sides for an excellent game.
