After last weeks aborted start to the Yorkshire league campaign the administrators re drafted the fixtures and this saw Dockers opening the season entertaining Skirlaugh Bulls.

Ahead of the game the coaches give their thoughts on the season opener.

“Last week we were all set for an away trip to Oulton and whilst we were disappointed the game was postponed we were fully supportive of the decision. With a few moves around the leagues the administrators drew up new fixture lists which saw us opening against the Bulls.

Last season we were in different leagues so we’ve not played since 2016. They are a good side and had a strong season finishing towards the top of the first division beating some good sides throughout the season. As a newly promoted side we are the underdogs though we are happy with the tag.

Squad wise we have Callum Bratley (shoulder) and Asa Mellors (knee) out with long term injuries though we have brought in a few new players. Training has been disrupted with weather and the scholarship matches though there is a positive vibe in the teamand we are hopeful we can put in a good session on Saturday in preparation for the game.”

Kick-off is scheduled for 11.15 at Willows on Sunday 11th March …….subject to the pitch being fit to play
