James Ferguson unfortunately suffered a reaction after training so fails to achieve his ambition of playing two consecutive matches, with Ampthill and Sedgley Park looming on the horizon the selectors are taking the opportunity to look at the depth within the squad. With neither Darren Macintyre, Chris Walker or Alex Crockett named in either the 1s or 2s there seems to be depth enough.

The new management team for the Hawks met at BP last night. Linus Penna and Mark Kelk, who has now fully recovered from his last visit to the club a fortnight ago, discussed tactics and other important matters before departing. They take over the helm after the Ampthill match in October.

The Hawks have a league fixture at Ilkley on Saturday, the 3pm KO means meeting at the club at 12.15pm.

Current Hawks supremo, Darren "Mad dog" MacIntrye, is taking up a new full time position with the first XV as holiday cover for assistant water boy Alan Wacker, so unusually he will have plenty to do.

The excellent Buccs report has appeared at last, find it by using the match centre tab. It is disappointing that their opposition this coming Saturday has already cocked off, but the lads are planning a bit of a do and also coming along to watch the 1st XV.

Voting for the try of the month currently has it as a two horse race with Silky Sam leading by a short head over Trundling Torky If you haven't placed your bets then be quick, Pat will be declaring Sam the winner at 5.30 tomorrow.

A new feature has appeared on the web site; Try of the month. This first rate innovation comes courtesy of web wizzard Steve Oxley. A well respected panel of experts reduced the possible 22 entries down to the best six so try and make Steve's hard work worthwhile and have a look and a vote. The Chairman has voted already, i wonder where his vote went.
